Mid West Helicopters is always available to help with wildfire suppression. Particularly common over the warmer summer months, all our capable helicopters have their buckets ready on standby for quick deployment. 

Our pilots are all experienced in firefighting and hold the appropriate qualifications including Unit Standard 3285. Hours of recurrent training are conducted annually within our organisation for FENZ and the NZDF.

All of our larger turbine helicopters are equipped with collapsible monsoon buckets and foam injection units for rapid deployment. There are additional buckets stationed strategically throughout our areas, so we may go straight to these if working nearby.

We can deploy the resources to a fire. Whether it be aircraft or fuelling systems with nine fuel trailers and one 12,000 lt fuel truck available along with an additional 12,000 lt water tanker if required when water is not readily available.
